To Light The Sky

This GORGEOUS view is the sun setting off my daddy's porch. It doesn't get better than that.
Tonight will be a bittersweet moment. It is Gina and Heidi's first church dance, and everyone in the stake 14 and older is invited!! A few of the girls from Greenville 2 (AKA Jasmine Audrey Gina and Emily) are singing the opening of Karaoke with Keepers of his light. The bittersweetness of tonight is although it is exciting that my sister and friend are coming to their first dance, and we are opening the show with a beautiful song, My baby sister is no longer a baby... And Madison isn't here.
Keepers of his light was a song that Madison, Audrey and I stumbled upon one day. It has a 3 part harmony and we wanted to sing it for Young Women in Excellence. So we printed it out and practiced for hours till it was perfect. Since that day we three have sung it many many times. Our last super saturday was at the beach and as all the girls were in the bathroom changing or whatever, Sister Kirwan walks in and the 3 of us start singing acapella Keepers of His Light... In the bathroom. lol. Anyway. Sister Kirwan is our new stake YW pres and she asked if we wouldn't mind singing for the opening of the dance. The down side to that is Madison is our Soprano and she is in Virginia. We decided to got Gina and Emily to sing with us because we couldn't turn her down just because Madison.. Who is the greatest ever and who was one of the Original 3... can't be there. I miss her a bunch..

I'll put up photos of tonight.. and maybe a video.. later.

Happy Sabbath!

My phone fell under the bed while I was sleeping last night. I woke up and had no Idea what time it was, but It was very dark. I got my phone and the clock said something like 6:02. I was up for the day and had nothing else to do, so I stretched and went for an early morning walk. It started out as a run, but slowed to a fast walk, sped back up again, then slowed back down. It was a good and tiring run and I got home before the sun came up :) I love that. Nobody is ever out before 7, so with the exception of a couple cars, the town is either asleep, or closed on Sunday!
Church was great today! There was a baby blessing, and a conformation. I LOVE when we have to open the chapel overflow. It makes me happy when we have people visiting or people moving into the ward! We got a new sister missionary this week :) She is pretty cool from what I know of her, which isn't much, but She's on a mission, so she's got to be awesome! haha. Today was my first official Sunday in laurels. It is different. I miss my mia maid girls. I love the girls in the laurel class too though.

Yesterday I babysat Colbie and Alia for a while. They are so adorable. They have gotten so big! it's ridiculous.
Jasmine needs to go to sleep because tomorrow is the Homecoming parade after school, and after the parade I have the read through for The Lion The Witch and The Wardrobe. I am the assistant director! It is exciting, but it is going to be a challenge. Okay. Goodnight Doll.
Eat your veggies.
Go to sleep early.
Pray constantly.

Charlie.Is.So.Cool.Like

First of all, This ^^ is my view on the way to seminary every morning :)
This week, Gina and I started waking up at 5:00, stretching, and running/walking for about 30 minutes. It has been fun so far! It is hard getting up some days, but I've been going to sleep early which is awesome! So I feel GREAT during the day! Starting off the day has been going very well. Our family recently started doing our daily family scripture out of the Teachings of Presidents of the Church book about Spencer W. Kimball. It is really effective. The beginning chapters are about our purpose on earth and death and trials and such. I really like it. So mornings go something like this:
Wake up
Stretch
Run
Fam Scripture
Seminary
School
Et Cetera.
I'd say it is a pretty successful schedule.
Yesterday at church we Tie-dyed T-shirts or socks or pillow cases, or whatever we had with us. I dyed my pillow case!!! It turned out SSOO amazing!!!! I LOVE love love it.. Check it out.
Isn't that Awesome?! :) After church, Madison and I started singing I'll follow you into the dark by Death Cab For Cutie, and as we walked around. She jokingly asked if I'd follow her into the dark and I said "Absolutely Not!" I then proceeded to make this a standard lesson about how Satan wants us to follow him into the dark and we have Christ leading us into the light. It was awesome. I told her I'd let her follow me into the light :)

Heidi wants me to write about her. Soo... Heidi is sitting beside me and she thinks boys are stupid. But only SOME boys are stupid... See, There are some boys who have no respect for some girls. BUT girls with common sense don't like guys like that! They like guys that treat them like the Beautiful daughter of God that they are! So, if you're a girl.. Those guys exist and they are Amazing. If you're a dude.. Be one of those guys!

Saturday was Super Saturday and we went to the beach!  It was fun and cold, but I went swimming anyway! For those of you who know me well, this shouldn't come as a surprise. :) Everyone who didn't swim said it was Really boring. lol. They had awesome veggie burgers though. They didn't have hamburger buns, so I used  hot dog buns instead. Woot. (I don't eat cow btw)
This is the Awesome pic of the Cool kidz at our table! :) We all look silly.
I love all of them a bunch times a billion :D
Okay! So, My alarm clock broke right before school started. I told my pretty spiffy friend Krissy about this unfortunate happening and she informed me of this giant ticking alarm clock that she does not use because of the vexasious-ness of the ticking. :) So she offered it to me, and me being without an alarm clock and fascinated by the enormity of it, plus the bells!, I had to accept :) Here's a picture!!
I do believe it was actually 11:14pm and 36 seconds when that picture was taken! Why was I up that late?! hehe. Another amazing fact: Charlieissocoollike= AMAZING! I <3 Charlie Mcdonnell.Go to youtube and look him up if you didn't tell me about him :) He is cool...like.
You know what else is cool?! Glee started yesterday!!!!! I still haven't seen the season 3 premiere episode, but it is next on my video watching list for the day! Woot!!
Homecoming is next week. It should be pretty cool. The band is going to play for the HC court. Because we're AWESOME! ...Well, we're getting there. I am now going to depart from the blogosphere for the time being and go make Macaroni and CHEESE and Jonathan is going to come over. Yay for food and friends!
Ps:
Emily says Hello!!
Remember:
You are a beautiful child of God!
Jasmine Loves you a lot.
Stay away from 7, cause she might eat you.

I Love The Gospel & My BFFs

So, I had a birthday party about a week and a half ago because I'm behind in my posting :) It was so fun! I had a bunch of friends there and got some pretty cool stuff. like this elephant!!
And this hat that I put on my daddy. My friend RAR Jean Jean made it for me!! :)

Best part of the month by far was the temple trip! We had to wake up at early o'clock though.
This was on our way to the church. Totally worth 4 hours of sleep though!
Me and Gina
 My Darling Logan Eason
My Eason babies' last official temple trip with the G2 Youth.
I love them SO much

There is no describing the spirit that is felt doing baptisms for people who actually lived on the earth and after a hundred years of being taught are now starting their journey. It is amazing to me and I feel honored to be able to do this work for them :)
Logan, who is Madison's sister, and the greatest girl on the planet, has autism and she barely wanted to get baptized at her own baptism. The time before this trip she did one baptism and that was a big deal because she had only ever done conformations, but THIS time she did 10 baptisms!!! It was amazing!!! I was so proud of her! She is grand! I want a seat right next to her in heaven. <3

Collard festival was this weekend and I skipped the parade to go to the temple, which was a pretty biggy d cause I'm the drum major. But IT WAS WORTH IT! I wouldn't have missed it for anything. So, Collard Festival. The Martin McDaniel Band was playing saturday night, down town. They are amazing. Madison and I were there awesome crazy stalker fans that yelled "WE LOVE YOU!!" every 5 minutes. :) After they finished playing we went up and met them and they all signed Chuckles' (The drummer's name is Chuck and Drew, the bass player called him chuckles :)) drumstick. We let Madi take it because she was about to move. It was SO fun though.
It didn't hit me at all that my dearest friend was moving until Sunday night when they had departed in to the vast world of roads to Virginia. Then the tears came. But, my friends are the best I could ever wish for. I will always be close to them and, in the not so famous words of Regina Spektor, there's "no need to say goodbye."
Unfortunately, there is a need to say goodbye because I have a test tomorrow so I need to go to sleep soon. :) Oh! There is no seminary tomorrow! :( I love seminary! The Old Testament is a VERY cool book. Full of these crazy stories and amazing ideas. I was surprised to find out how little I knew about this one book. Every day is a new adventure in the world of the scriptures! And I will close with that.
Appreciate your friends,
Tell your mommy you love her,
Read the scriptures every day.
All My Love,

A Chapel Filled With The Music Of Children

Hello There!! Today, in sacrament meeting, The entire Walker/ Edwards clan filled the chapel. There were tiny children crying and running around and shaking rattles. It was GREAT!! :) It is probably one of the greatest most simple things, to have a congregation full of crying children. But I love it. We opened sacrament with me and mom singing How Great Thou Art for prelude. It was really good. The congregation sung the opening hymn and with the chapel filled, it sounded like a concourse of angels! It was So beautiful.
Then Thomas was blessed... I do believe that it was one of the sweetest baby blessings I have ever heard. I felt like it was heavenly father talking to me, and it is amazing how someone so tiny can have such colossal eternal blessings promised them. It was definitely a testimony boost.

In other news:
Yesterday was my Uncle Steve's birthday!!!! Along with a bunch of other people.. But he is the most important. :) He is the greatest guy ever, next to my daddy. He is super smart and funny and just Awesome!! I love him.
Also... My birthday was Thursday :) On Wednesday night I went to Dad's house for my pre-birthday dinner. We had awesome chicken taco/burrito/wrap things that we make a lot :) They are SSOOO Good. Then we made Peach Cobbler!!! It is SOO Amazing!! I just love it so much. And with vanilla ice cream to top it off.... Oh. My. Gosh! It is heavenly.

For my actual birthday I went to school and had a typical day and Mom picked me up and gave me a happy birthday balloon!! Later, Jonathan came over and we went and picked up Madison and went to the BEST place in my world to this point. lol. CHEDDAR'S!!!!! J'adore Cheddar's!!! Mommy got me a present and a red velvet cake that we ate for dessert in the restaurant :) We gave our waitress a slice :D She loved it!! Red Velvet cake is her favorite too! She was cool. When she first got to our table she looked like she was having a terrible day!! But we made her smile and it was amazing! I love my friends so much!
I got home and was feeling a little blahh because the car ride went south, but music always calms me down. I walked in my room and looked at my keyboard and wished I could play piano well. Since I can't I picked up my flute, because I can play that well, and I played through some hymns. Music has so much power! It completely changed my mood.

Another amazing girl got to spend some time with me today! Devin Finney!!! She is so amazing! We talked about her adventures at NCSSM With all the Asian nerds ;) But I'm glad she's having a great time!
Me and her... she and I... We two, made pineapple [temporarily] upside down cake and Peach Cobbler with fresh peaches!!! It was tres magnifique!!And now Devin has something to make her roommate for her birthday :D YAY!!!
This post is WAY out of order, but I hope you can follow along.

Last night I was sitting in bed with this new 12X18 sketchbook, and large pack of twistables that I got at Walmart. I was doodling and just drawing random things like shoes, when this Brilliant idea came to me for a picture that I simply have to draw!!! A newly wedded couple standing hand in hand with the salt lake temple in the distance between their shoulders. I wasn't sure if I could do that, but It was a picture well worth the challenge. I started on a basic outline, which turned into an official rough draft.

Tomorrow is my birthday partyy!!! It will be a ton of fun!! I am so excited to have everybody come over!! I'll post more about that later.

Party hard!! Don't let the bed bugs bite!!
All My Love,
~Jasmine~

Guess who's turning 16 in 1.5 hours!!!

Guess what?!?!?! Tomorrow is my birthday!!! :) I'm excited, but at the same time I'm also nervous because of the "legality" of dating and all. Haha
I actually feel lousy :/ My stomach has been hurting all day, plus I worked out yesterday, so my legs and my abs are sore.

On to better news... Today was day 1 of seminary!!! Yay! It was supposed to be Monday, but they had to postpone it to today because school was canceled. Hurricane Irene ran through town for a quick 24 hours and knocked down a bunch of trees that knocked down a bunch of power lines. But me, Gina, and dad played in the rain and cleaned out the storm drains for a while until it became useless.
Yesterday our young women went swimming at sister day's community pool! :) it was a lots of fun. I discovered that I am a faster swimmer than all of the other YW :D I really wish ayden was big enough to have a swim team. I would definitely be on it. Speaking of the young women, I really love the girls in our ward. I am 99.99% positive that we have the closest group of young women ever. We all love eachother and get along so well. You can really feel the spirit when we're all together. Whether we're at the temple or at a pool party (in modest swim suits ;))we are one gosh dern amazing group of girls with excellent leaders. I could look to them for anything, and I do!
Also, I changed my schedule today! I am now signed up for the following:

1st semester
BandI
Hn Anatomy& physiology
Hn forensic science
Hn US history

2nd semester
Band II
Hn pre-calculus
Hn chemistry
AP english III
Woot!! I'm excited. But I'm taking 3 sciences this year which gives me way more than I need to graduate. Haha. I wish I was taking art though. My amazing sister Melodie gave me a good idea of how to keep myself drawing. So now I'm going to doodle about what we're talking about in all my classes for the week. My sisters are the best.
You know what else is the best? How iPods and most apple contraptions with a touch screen do this fancy thing called correct your typos as you typo them. :) without it I would be lost right now because most of my words would be coming out waayyy wrong. If there was a way to turn it off I would show you. Haha it is really rediculous.

I believe this is going to conclude my post for the day. Aww. Sad, I know. :)
I'm getting old which means... so are you!!!! But don't get to old to fast, cause people tend to do that and it's dumb... :D

I love you!!
<3 forever,
~Jasmine~

I'm Thinking.... Chocolate!

Yesterday my mommy was looking for something she could make for this funeral she was going to. She was thinking cookies or brownies. As she thought of what to make I remembered that we had bags of chocolate chips, and a grand idea popped into my head! Homemade chocolate truffles. When I was younger, I found this recipe for homemade peanut butter cups, and I made them a few times and LOVED them. For my truffle idea I was thinking, instead of peanut butter, I would use Nutella and it would maybe turn out like a truffle. So I woke up this morning, cleaned the kitchen, and began.

I got out my chocolate heart molding pan and put chocolate in the bottom of my first heart :D

Next comes the Nutella :)

And you top it off with more chocolate!
THEN I had a Brilliant Idea. We are completely out of peanut butter :(
BUT, In the fridge we had caramel and butterscotch! On to my next experiment. :)

All Done!! And they look Delicious!

Now we put them in the Freezer and we wait. And wait. And watch Night At The Museum 2!! I really love that movie :) It is hilarious! And wait... Till we take them out of the freezer!! :D

NUTELLA!!!!!

This is the butterscotch one. It kindof fell apart...
But it wasn't half bad.

Caramel turned out Delicious!!

They are all SO Good. I wish I could share!!
My next batch I found marshmallows!! I can tell you right now that is going to be delicious.

Thanks for reading my first officially official blog post!!
Stay strong! And remember, Chocolate doesn't solve your problems... It just helps a little bit :)
Experiment with food.

The Zoo!! :)

I went to the zoo for the first time in my life on Friday! It is amazing. I love elephants a lot!!
:) This is Artie. He's my favorite elephant at the zoo. <3
